Pakistan Politics: PPP’s Punjab Struggles, Sindh Governance Crisis, and the ‘Empire’ Equation!
Dive into the latest political storm! Qurban Baloch breaks down the shocking reality facing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Punjab after the recent Sialkot by-election, where their candidate secured a mere 7000 votes. Has Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s party truly hit rock bottom in the heartland of Pakistan?
A stern “message” seems to have been delivered to the PPP leadership: improve your governance and administrative affairs, particularly in Sindh, or face isolation in other provinces! The clock is ticking – a two-month leniency period could shrink to just one month if the party doesn’t heed the warning and continues making serious allegations.
Adding fuel to the fire, PPP Punjab leaders, including Syed Hassan Murtaza and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, accused the ruling PML-N of consistently relying on the ’empire’ (establishment) for electoral success. But how can the PPP make such claims when their own party holds significant power? They have the President, the Senate Chairman, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and Governors in Punjab and KP, alongside ruling Sindh and Balochistan!
The glaring question arises: On what basis do they hold these high offices and parliamentary seats if they believe elections are manipulated and they struggle to secure public votes outside Sindh? The state of governance, corruption, mismanagement, and law & order in Sindh is explicitly mentioned as a critical issue – one that is reportedly “not hidden” from anyone, including the ’empire’ and other stakeholders.
While the “eat freely, bathe freely” situation in Sindh might continue for now, this analysis warns that the landscape is being watched and could change dramatically in the future. The current ’empire,’ unlike perhaps in the past, is deemed strong enough not to tolerate serious allegations from a party simultaneously enjoying the perks of power.
Watch the full analysis to understand the complex power dynamics, the deep-seated challenges facing the PPP, and the potential shifts on Pakistan’s political horizon!
